In the EU, the packaging of numerous medicines will soon have to be equipped so as to make it immediately obvious if they have been tampered with.
This is why HERMA has developed a new “tamper-evident” solution. Its new, extremely strong adhesive sticks so firmly that sealing labels coated with it cannot be removed even from lacquer-coated pharmaceutical packs and numerous other surfaces without damage to the labels or to the pack – rendering costly special solutions such as hologram labels superfluous.
Labels coated with this adhesive are suitable not only for the pharmaceuticals sector but in general for any application requiring seals for reasons of authenticity, security or inspection – such as in the automotive, electronics or food industries.
Moreover, HERMA has developed a tamper-evident label applicator for pharmaceutical packs. The label applicator affixes sealing labels to folding boxes. No simple task, as the labels tend to be very small and have to seal the tuck-in box flaps over a 90° angle. The system is capable of processing different types of folding box and can achieve a speed of up to 300 packs per minute. At the same time, it is designed to give the operator full access from just one side – saving time and money.
